RE: Family style seafood restaurants around Myrtle Beach

For buffet Original Benjamin's is very hard to beat. To order from the menu Drunken Jack's can't be beat, IMO. Both are a little pricey but since it's only while we're on vacation, we splurge. Sara J's in Garden City is very good and less pricey but still not DJ's equal, once again IMO. I have heard very good things about Lee's Kitchen in Murrell's Inlet but haven't tried it myself. Driving to Calabash is okay, but not worth the trip if your in the southern part of the Grand Strand.

RE: 144 mph 113 mpg

BTW, Opel has been GM for decades and decades.Opel part of GM I have to believe you mean GM bought Opel actions decades ago, since Opel build cars almost 70 years before GM was born. per your link Opel started building cars in 1899. I'm relatively certain General Motors was "born" a few years prior to 1969.

RE: RV Wholesalers--warranty work--Crossroads Cruiser

I've had a somewhat similar experience with a dealer in my area. We purchased our Cruiser from RVW's and when we needed some warranty work the dealer didn't refuse to work on it, he just kept having "problems" with getting parts that weren't damaged, problems with shipping etc. He kept it on the lot for three months without doing anything to it other than run my propane tanks empty. This was during spring and early summer so there was no reason to even have the heat on, however when I finally gave up and went to get it, the thermostat was on 80 or so degrees and most of my propane gone. Crossroads agreed to let a local RV Repair Shop do the warranty work. A few papers were faxed between the shop and Crossroads and the guy came to my house and fixed my camper. So if you do buy a Cruiser and can't get local dealer service, call Crossroads and see if they will help you find a qualified repair shop or maybe do as I did find a RV mechanic that's been in business for years and see if he can get qualified to do the work. Crossroads are absolutely super to work with on issues like this. I have never had any product that the manufacture would go to the lengths to keep the end customer happy like these folks.

RE: Payton Manning comercial??

That's right -- most do not get contracts because of acting ability -- and they already have more money than most. What does that leave ... pretty much EGO -- That's my only point with all this. And, I for one, think pro athletes -- and anyone else -- should be required to uphold the same professional standards as anyone else in any business. Instead, these men and women get these "jobs" based upon ability in sports, not acting, and I wish I didn't have to watch such unprofessional ability -- I know, turn it off, but I do like some shows and the commercials fit constantly into the middle of every show -- as we know, so it's hard to miss or ignore them. Tom Brady's awesome isn't he?

RE: Forty years ago it was 1968, I will never forget that year !

'68 was a super big year for me. I don't really remember much of it being born late in '67 and all. However I'm pretty sure I learned to walk and talk that year both of which are skills that have came in handy over the last four decades.

RE: What’s Ted Tuner up to ?

Don't know if this is correct, but some years ago I read that Ted planned to buy property from Canada to Mexico. He had allegedly made the statement that he wanted to be able to ride his horse from border to border without leaving his property. At the time I thought it sounded a little bit ridiculous, but maybe not.

RE: Am I the only one ????

At non membership stores like Walmart and Home Depot you don't have to shoew them your receipt they can ask but you don't have to show them. The only place you need to show proof at the door is membership places like costco where it's stated in your contract. I had a friend who use to walk right out of stores and ignore the security and they never said a word to them. I looked it up and sure enough it's true.Considering the fact that you are still on private property, you probably should look it up again. Nope, he looked it up correctly the first time. I'm sure some state laws on the subject vary, but in most locales unless one has been observed taking an item and then not paying for it prior to exiting the store the retailer doesn't have the right to detain you or check "your" bags. You own the bag now and the retailer gave up his rights to the bag and its contents once you received a receipt. If an employee sees you attempt to leave the store with an item that hasn't been paid for, then they can legally detain you until a police officer arrives. So, if it really gets you steamed walk on by them. More than likely all of them know they can't force you to stop or allow them to look in "your" bags.
